Christine Johansson, LCSW

There are times in all our lives when our usual coping skills aren’t enough to deal with serious and challenging life situations. A supportive therapist can help not only with the immediate crisis, but also can work with you to resolve issues from the past that are keeping you stuck in unhealthy patterns, develop more skillful ways to cope with current problems, and explore with you how create the life you want in the future.

As an LCSW, I have worked with individual adults, couples and groups for over thirty years, providing down-to-earth, compassionate counseling with issues including trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, major life transitions, stress management and communication skills. Using a cognitive behavioral and mindfulness approach, I work collaboratively with clients to uncover the negative beliefs and attitudes that create unnecessary suffering and use this insight to make tangible, positive life changes. I am also trained in EMDR to help clients dealing with PTSD from recent or past traumas.
